For the removal of doubts, it is hereby clarified that nothing in this Act shall be deemed to prevent members of the Scheduled Castes 126[or the Scheduled Tribes or the Backward Classes] or Women for whom seats are reserved from standing for election to the non-reserved seats in the Corporation.]
