6. 44[(1) The term of office of elected #[members] shall, save as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, be five years from the date appointed for the first meeting of the Corporation under clause (b) of section 88 and the last day of their term of office is in this Act referred to as the day for retirement.] 45[(3) An ex-officio #[Member] shall hold office so long as he continues to be the member of the Legislative Assembly of the State or the Legislative Council of the State or the House of the People, as the case may be.]
