Section 173. Punishment for breach of rules.

173. (1) The 219[Government] may prescribe punishment for breach of rules which may either be imprisonment to the extent of one month or fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or both. (2) Under sub-section (1) punishment on conviction shall be awarded by a magistrate.
