Section 7. The Vice-Chancellor.

7. (1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the 5[Government] in such manner as prescribed by the Statute 2. (2) The Vice-Chancellor shall assist the Chancellor of the University in discharge of his/her duties. (3) The Vice-Chancellor in the absence of the Chancellor shall Chair the Governing Council and Academic Council. (4) The Vice-Chancellor shall chair the meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Studies of the Constituent Institutes. (5) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the University.
