Section 3. The University.
This Act was repealed on 2 July 2007 by the Tripura University Act, 2006, s.48(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
3. (1) There shall be established a University by the name of "Tripura University" (2) The headquarters of the University shall be at Agartala and it may also establish campus at such other places within its Jurisdiction as it may deem fit. (3) (i) The first Chancellor and the first Vice-Chancellor of the University and the first members of the Senate and the Syndicate, and all persons who may hereafter become the Chancellor or the Vice-Chancellor of the University or the members of the Senate or the Syndicate so long as they continue to hold such office or membership shall constitute a body corporate by the name of the Tripura University. (ii) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the name of the Tripura University.
