Section 54. Manner of the appointment of the officers and the members or authorities
THE UTTAR PRADESH FORESTRY AND HORTICULTURE UNIVERSITY ACT, 2026
54. (1) Except as expressly provided by this Act or the Statutes made thereunder, the members of authorities of the University, shall so far as may be, chosen by methods other than election. (2) Where a provision is made in this Act or the Statutes for any appointment according to seniority or other qualifications, the manner of determination of seniority and other qualifications shall be such as may be prescribed. (3) Where a provision for an election is made in this Act, such election shall be conducted according to the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote and where provision for an election is made in the Statutes it shall be held in such manner as the Statutes may provide. (4) Except as expressly provided by this Act, no officer or employee of the University shall be eligible to seek election to any authority or other body of the University.
