Section 4. Term of office of members

4. (1) Members other than [ex Officio members]2 shall hold office for a term of three years from the date of the, notification published [under sub-section (3) of section 3 :]6 [Provided that the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, enlarge the term of office of all such members by a period not exceeding [six months]7 at a time so however, that the enlargements, so granted, shall not in the aggregate exceed [one year]7.]1 [(2) A member of the Board shall cease to be such member upon his ceasing to have the capacity in which he was elected or nominated, and his place shall thereupon become vacant.]3
