Section 4. Appointment and powers of Settlement officers

4. The State Government may for purposes of this Act appoint an officer hereinafter called the settlement officer, to be incharge of the settlement of the Pargana or, as the case may be, of any local area therein and as many Assistant settlement Officers as may be considered necessary.
