Section 1. Short title and extent and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be called the " the United Provinces Industrial Disputes Act, 1947”. (2) It extends5 to the whole of [Uttar Pradesh]6. (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the [State Government]2 may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
