Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement

1- (1) This Act may be called the United Provinces Prisoners Release on Probation Act, 1938. (2) It extends3 to the whole of [Uttar Pradesh]4. (3) It shall come into force on such date5 as the [State Government]6 may by notification appoint in this behalf.
