THE UTTAR PRADESH AGRICULTURAL CREDIT ACT, 1973

3. The State Government may by notification in the Gazette, vest, subject to such restrictions as may be specified in the notification, all bhumidhars, [* **]1 asamis and Government lessees, with rights of alienation in land held under their tenure or any interest in such land including the right to create a charge or mortgage or such land or interest in favour of banks generally or any specified class of banks for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance from such banks, and upon issue of such notification, such bhumidhars, [***]1 asamis and Government lessees shall, notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force or in any contract, grant or other instrument to the contrary, or any custom or tradition, have a right of alienation in accordance with he terms of the notification.]2
