Section 26. Appointment of salaried officers and teachers

26. (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the members of the staff of the University shall be appointed by the Board on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor. (2) Except in cases provided for by the Statutes, every salaried officer and teacher of the University shall be appointed under a written contract. The contract shall be lodged with the Vice- Chancellor and a copy thereof shall be furnished to the officer or teacher concerned. The contract shall not be inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and the Statutes for the time being in force in relation to the conditions of service.
