THE UTTAR PRADESH MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1959

274- The Mukhya Nagar Adhikari when authorized by the [Corporation]1 in this behalf, may at any time- (a) layout and make a new public street; (b) agree with any person for the making of a street for public use through the land of such person, either entirely at the expense of such person or partly at the expense of such person and partly at the expense of the [Corporation]1, and may further agree that such street shall, on completion, become a public street and vest in the [Corporation]1 ; (c) construct tunnels, bridges, causeways and other works subsidiary to the layout and making of a new public street; (d) divert or turn an existing public street vested in the [Corporation]1 or a portion thereof.
