Section 1. Short title and commencement.

This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Gangasagar Mela Act, 1976 (West Bengal Act IV of 1976), s.5; it may still apply to matters that began before then.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Gangasagar Mela Act, 1953. (2) It shall come into force immediately on the Gangasagar Mela Ordinance, 1953, ceasing to operate.
