This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the West Bengal Taxes on Entry of Goods in Local Areas Act, 1962 (20 of 1962), s.24(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Taxes on Entry of Goods in Local Areas Act, 1955. (2) It extends to the whole of West Bengal. (3) This section shall come into force at once; the remaining sections shall come into force on such date or dates as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and for this purpose different dates may be appointed for different sections.
