Section 9. Restriction on local authorities.

This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Assam Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1959 (Assam Act No. XIX of 1959), as listed in the Assam Legislative Department's list of repealed Acts; it may still apply to matters that began before then.
9. Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, no local authority shall prescribe, by bye-law or otherwise, any standard of weights, and any standard of weight in force by reason of such prescription, on the day this Act comes into force, shall so far as it is inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be void.
