2. General superintendence and control of the Assam Police Battalion.— The general superintendence and control of the Assam Police Battalion shall be exercised by such person or authority as the State Government may appoint in this behalf, designated the “Commandant of Assam Police Battalion” and in the exercise of such superintendence and control the person or authority so appointed shall be governed by the Police Act (V of 1861).
