Section 14. Terms of the Members.

This Act was repealed on 21 May 2022 by The Assam State Higher Education Council (Repealing) Act, 2022 (Assam Act 19 of 2022); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
14. Any member other than an ex-officio members shall be appointed by the Government ordinarily for a term of five years and shall not be eligible for re-appointment for a second term: Provided that the Government may, in exceptional circumstances for reasons to be recorded in writing, by notification in the Official Gazette, extend the term of such member for another period not exceeding six months.
