This Act was repealed on 11 September 2006 by the Chhattisgarh Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act, 2004 (28 of 2006), s.21; it may still apply to matters that began before then.
17. Power to grant exemptions.- The State Government may, by general or special order and subject to such conditions as it may think fit to impose exempt from the operation of this Act the slaughter of any male or female buffalo or the possession of flesh thereof for any religious, medical or research purposes.
