117E. A settlement shall remain in force for a period of 30 years : Provided that in the case of any particular settlement, the 1[State] Government may, for reasons to be recorded, direct that the settlement shall remain in force for any period less than 30 years : Provided further that, when in the opinion of the 1[State] Government a revision settlement is inexpedient, or when the introduction of such settlement has, for any cause, been delayed, the 1[State] Government may extend the term of the settlement or the time being in force for such period as it may think fit.
