Section 38. Resignation of Councillors.

38. Resignation of Councillors.— Any Councillor who is elected 4* * may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the President, and the President may resign his office of Councillor by giving similar 5[notice to the Commissioner; and the office of the Councillor shall thereupon become vacant.] 6[The notice shall be delivered in the manner prescribed.]
