Section 36. Penalties for breach of rules made under sections 35 and 35-A.

36. The 4[Central or, as the case may be, State Government] may, by such rules, prescribe as penalties for the infringement thereof imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month, or fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, or both. 2[Omitted] In cases where the offence is committed after sunset and before sunrise, or after making preparation for resistance to the execution of any law or any legal process, or where the offender has been previously convicted of a like offence, the convicting Magistrate may inflict double the penalty prescribed for such offence.
