This Act was repealed on 21 September 2001 by the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2002 (Central Act 16 of 2002), s.7(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
29- (1) An officer of the University except the Chancellor shall be liable to surcharge for the loss, waste or misapplication of any money or property of the University, if such loss, waste or misapplication is a direct consequence of his neglect or misconduct, while acting as such officer. (2) The procedure of surcharge and the manner of recovery of the amount involved in such loss, waste or misapplication shall be such as may bed prescribed by the State Government by notified order.]2
