This Act was repealed on 21 September 2001 by the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2002 (Central Act 16 of 2002), s.7(1); it may still apply to matters that began before then.
9- (1) The Chancellor shall be nominated by the [State Government]1. (2) The term of office of the Chancellor shall be three years. (3) The Chancellor shall have such powers as may be conferred on him by this Act or the rules. (4) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor.
