The University of Engineering and Technology Roorkee Act, 2020

This Act was repealed on a date we do not have by the Uttarakhand Private Universities Act, 2023 (Uttarakhand Act 2 of 2024), s.72(1) and Schedule-I item 20; it may still apply to matters that began before then.

14. (1) The Governor of Uttarakhand shall be the Visitor of the University. (2) The Visitor shall, when present, preside at the convocation of the University for conferring degree and diplomas. (3) The Visitor shall have the following powers, namely:- (a) To call for any record, paper or information relating to the affairs of the university. (b) On the basis of the information received by the Visitor, if he is satisfied that any order, minutes or decision whether taken by any authority or University is not in conformity with the Act, Statutes, Regulation Ordinance or Rules he may issue such directions as he may deem fit in the interest of the University and the directions so issued shall be complied with by all concerned office bearers. (4) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the approval of the Visitor.
