Section 444. Loitering and soliciting for immoral purpose

444- Whoever, in a street or public place .within the limits of the City loiters for the purpose of prostitution or importunes a person to the commission of sexual immorality, shall be liable on conviction to a fine which may extend to fifty rupees : Provided that no. court shall take cognizance of an offence under this section except on the complaint of the person importuned or on the complaint of a [Corporation]1 or a police officer not below the rank of a sub-inspector respectively authorized in this behalf in writing by the [Corporation]1 and the District Magistrate.
