Where an answer comes from

Every law you are shown comes from the text of a bare Act held in our own database, ingested from India Code (indiacode.gov.in), the Government of India’s official repository of Central and State legislation.

The AI never states what a law says from its own memory. It reads the sections we retrieved and writes the answer from those, and every Act and every section an answer cites is checked against our database before you see it.

What an answer is not

• It is not legal advice. Using this site creates no lawyer-client relationship between you and us or anybody else. We are not a law firm, we are not advocates acting for you, and we do not represent you in any matter. Nothing you write here is protected by any privilege.
• It is not the whole of the law. The outcome of a real matter depends on its own facts, on procedure, and on rules, notifications and judgments we do not hold. Judgments and case law are not loaded at all, and not every State’s Acts are loaded yet.
• It is not guaranteed to be right. An answer can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. An Act may have been amended or repealed since we read it; India Code is the authoritative text, and that is where to verify a section.

Where we hold no law

If we do not hold a law that covers your situation, the answer says so. That is the intended behaviour and not a fault: we would rather refuse than cite the wrong law.

Before you act on anything you read here

Consult an advocate enrolled with your State Bar Council. Do not use this site for anything urgent, and do not use it in place of a lawyer where a limitation period, a court date or your liberty is involved.

You are responsible for checking anything you rely on, and you may not present an answer from this site as legal advice, as our advice, or as the advice of an advocate, to anybody.
