Refund policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

Kanoon Kaka is free to use. The one thing you can pay for is a plan — three sizes of it, charged by the month or by the year — and this page says exactly what happens to that money if you stop yours.

What can be charged

  • Nothing else on this site costs anything, and asking a question is free whether you pay or not.
  • The payment is taken by Razorpay in their own window. No card, UPI or bank details are collected by this site or stored in our database.

The price shown for a plan is the full amount charged: nothing is added to it at checkout, and the payment gateway’s fee comes out of our side of it rather than yours. That price is the amount that leaves your account, and if you are refunded it is that same amount that comes back.

Stopping it, and what you keep

  • You can stop the plan at any time, from the account menu. There is nothing to ask us for and nobody to persuade.
  • You keep your plan until the end of the month, or of the year, you have already paid for. Nothing is taken away from you on the day you stop it.
  • Moving up to a bigger plan is a single payment of the difference between the two plans’ prices, and the bigger plan then applies for the rest of the month or the year you are already in. Your renewal date does not change, and from the next renewal the new plan’s price is what is charged. The whole difference is charged rather than a share of it for the days remaining, so nothing is worked out pro rata, and nothing of what you have already paid is refunded.
  • Moving down to a smaller plan is the other way about: stop the one you are on, which you keep to the end of the period you have paid for, and subscribe to the smaller one. It takes effect at the next renewal; nothing is refunded and nothing changes before then.
  • A top-up, which only the biggest plan can add, is a single payment and does not change your plan. Valid for one month from the day you buy it. Whatever is left of it when that month ends is not carried over and is not refunded. Your plan’s own month is always used before a top-up is, each top-up lasts a month from its own day, and if your plan ends any top-up ends with it. Nothing about a top-up is refunded once it is bought.
  • Nothing is charged after that. The next payment, monthly or yearly, simply does not happen.
  • Deleting your account ends the plan immediately rather than at the end of the period. It is in the account menu, it is permanent, and nothing is refunded for the rest of the period you have paid for: the plan is cancelled, not refunded. Your payment receipts are kept, without your email address, because the law requires financial records to be kept. The Privacy policy page says exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

Refunds

  • A month or a year that has begun is not refunded part-way: you have your plan for the whole of it. A yearly plan is one payment for twelve months and is treated the same way — stopping it keeps the plan to the end of the year already paid for.
  • Deleting your account is the same answer and a shorter one: the plan ends on the spot and no part of what has been paid comes back.
  • Where the law requires a refund, the law decides and not this page. Nothing here excludes a right you cannot be asked to give up.
  • If you were charged by mistake — a second payment for the same month, a charge after you stopped — write to us and we will return it. Refunds are made to the same payment method, through Razorpay, and usually reach you within five to seven working days once they are made.

Something looks wrong on your statement

Write to support@kanoonkaka.in with the date and the amount — not your card number, which we neither need nor can read. If a charge naming Kanoon Kaka appears and you have never subscribed, tell us and raise it with your bank or card issuer as well.
